Ergonomic Assessment

An IHS Ergonomic Assessment may be used to ensure that a worker’s workstation is ergonomically designed to minimise the risk of injury and maximise productivity. In addition, it is a vital step to support the return to work of a desk based injured worker by ensuring that their workstation is designed to minimise any discomfort as they recover from their injury and/or prevent any aggravation of the injury.

IHS are also able to offer customised solutions to support injured or non-injured workers who work from home, to ensure their home work environment is safe and ergonomically designed.

Where an individual is already experiencing pain or discomfort, or has an injury or disability, IHS are able to conduct a thorough assessment to ensure they can commence, continue and sustainably work safely and comfortably. Our assessment includes:

  • Analysis of all aspects of the workstation – chair, desk, monitor, keyboard, mouse and the placement of these at the workstation.
  • Analysis of the employee – job requirements and their working posture.
  • Discussion and prescription (if necessary) of rest and stretch breaks throughout the day to minimize injuries.
  • Recommendations including any equipment that may be required as well as supply and set up if requested.
